On 7 May 2026, Seishonen Guyana held an invitation‑only evening at Fresh Café on Carmichael Street, Georgetown, to officially launch its new wedding‑expo concept. Advertised with the tag line “You’re invited to a Guyanese Love Story”, the launch was designed to signal the start of Land of Many Loves, a Guyanese & Caribbean wedding‑destination expo scheduled for September 26–27, 2026.
During the launch, Juliana Lopes, co‑founder of Seishonen Guyana, and its head of marketing and public relations, explained why the company decided to organise a wedding‑destination expo. She told the audience that Guyana’s wedding industry remains fragmented, with couples often relying on word‑of‑mouth recommendations because many vendors operate independently. Lopes said the Land of Many Loves initiative was created “to bridge gaps within the local wedding sector and create immersive experiences for couples, vendors and creatives alike”. She noted that centralising the industry would make it easier for couples to compare quality, prices and styles and would encourage vendors to be more transparent, ultimately setting new standards for wedding services.
Lopes also highlighted policy changes that have opened the door for destination weddings in Guyana. The 2026 national budget removed the 14‑day residency requirement for foreign couples wishing to marry in the country. Lopes said this long‑standing hurdle had previously discouraged couples from choosing Guyana as their wedding destination; the removal of the requirement “paved the way for the development of this industry”. She added that Land of Many Loves will provide three selected couples with fully curated wedding experiences—covering décor, vendors and cultural elements—to showcase what Guyana offer.
Another theme of the launch was the celebration of culture. Lopes announced that the expo will feature a Guyanese Love Seek episodic series in which local couples share perspectives on love, intimacy and marriage.. The first day of the expo will showcase traditional wedding customs from Guyana’s diverse cultures, helping Guyanese, the diaspora and expatriate community understand how different families prepare for matrimony. The project aims not only to spur business for vendors but also to support photographers, musicians, videographers and other creatives.
Oslyn Kitron, of the Tourism & Hospitality Association of Guyan, welcomed the initiative and emphasised the importance of collective planning. In a comment at the launch, Kitron said that by bringing planners and vendors into one space, the expo would make it easier for couples to find everything they need without searching randomly. She stressed that the Land of Many Loves project is an opportunity to “push local content” for Guyanese couples and to show the international market what the country offers for weddings. Kitron argued that with better collaboration, couples will be able to look, book and plan more confidently, and the community can build on that foundation to attract destination weddings in the future. Her remarks echoed the organisers’ vision of moving beyond a scattered vendor network to a cohesive industry with global appeal.

The Land of Many Loves wedding‑destination expo is scheduled for 26–27 September 2026, and its organisers plan to launch a social‑media campaign on 11 May 2026 inviting couples to submit videos explaining why they should receive a complimentary wedding experience. The expo will feature vendors from across the wedding industry, cultural showcases and opportunities for visitors to book services on the spot. With the residency requirement lifted and a concerted effort to centralise services and highlight Guyana’s multicultural wedding traditions, organisers believe the expo could elevate Guyana’s appeal as a Caribbean destination for weddings and boost the local economy. As Lopes noted, continued partnerships with co‑operatives, public‑sector agencies and the private sector will be key to making the expo a success.
