Individual excellence will carry added value in the fourth edition of the Lotto/Let’s Bet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast, with Regal Super Centre once again backing the tournament’s full slate of individual awards.
The long-standing sponsor has renewed its support for a fourth consecutive year, ensuring that the competition’s standout performers will be rewarded with cash prizes and high-value incentives as the tournament approaches its decisive stages.
Leading the awards package is the Most Valuable Player prize, which carries $150,000 in cash and a brand-new motorbike.
The tournament’s leading run-scorer and top wicket-taker will each receive $100,000 and a television set, while the Player of the Final will collect $75,000. The players recording the Super Strike Rate and Best Economy Rate will each earn $50,000.
Regal Super Centre representative Telesha Ousman-Yamin said the company was pleased to continue supporting a tournament that has developed into a major fixture on the local tapeball calendar.
“We have been proud supporters of the One Guyana T10 Blast for four years now, and seeing the tournament expand and capture the public’s imagination year after year has been incredibly rewarding,” Ousman-Yamin said.
She added that the company viewed tapeball cricket as an important part of Guyana’s sporting culture and was pleased to reward players whose performances help elevate the competition.
FL Sport’s John Ramsingh also welcomed Regal Super Centre’s continued involvement, noting that sustained corporate support has played an important role in the tournament’s growth.
“Regal Super Centre has been a steadfast partner in driving the growth of this competition,” Ramsingh said. “Their continued generosity adds immense value for the players who pour everything onto the park.”
Ramsingh added that the partnership has helped strengthen the tournament’s overall profile as the competition moves closer to its national phase.
Regional champions emerge
Three regional champions have already secured their places following the completion of earlier zonal qualifiers.
Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars captured the Berbice zone after a strong run of performances, while Mahdia – Movements Family emerged victorious from the East Bank/West Demerara zone. Lusignan Bulls DTP II secured the Essequibo title.
Attention now shifts to the Georgetown/East Coast Demerara Zone, which will be contested over two weekends — September 26–27 and October 3–4.
The zonal finals are scheduled for the Enmore Community Centre Ground, where the final regional qualification spot for the national stage will be determined.
Once the Georgetown/East Coast representative is confirmed, the competition will move to Essequibo for its grand finale.
The tournament is set to conclude on Sunday, October 11, at the Anna Regina National Stadium, where the country’s leading tapeball teams will battle for the championship and a lucrative team prize structure.
The champions will collect $2 million, while the runners-up will receive $1 million. Third place will attract a prize of $500,000.
With major team prizes and a strengthened individual awards package on offer, the closing stages of the One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast are set to place an even greater premium on both collective success and individual performance.
